Also assisting faculty in the design, development and transformation of teaching and learning with technology. The job also includes assisting faculty in developing effective methods for delivering instruction using technology in multimedia classrooms, online and hybrid classes and streaming video; developing educational materials and provides training sessions for faculty. The instructional technologist will work on a team with other instructional technologist. The qualifications for the job are five years of experience working with faculty in higher education as an instructional designer with technology focus and competence. Experience with current educational technologies and comfort with learning and teaching faculty to use new educational technologies as they emerge. The job also requires a Master's Degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Systems Technology or a related field.
I would definitely consider applying for this job after receiving my degree, however the experience qualification would put me out of the running. But once I receive experience this job sounds like something that would be a great fit for me. I love working on a team of colleagues. Also It would be very exciting to work on developing courses that would have such a far reaching impact. By helping to develop educational material and courses, you have the opportunity to potentially impact hundreds of students. That is really exciting! This job is what it is all about.
